James was first introduced to the arch guitar by the
instrument's
innovator Peter Blanchette. Seduced by its sweetness of
sound and wide range
of possibilities, he was immediately "converted".
A combination of Renaissance and Baroque
lutes, 19th century
guitar, and contemporary design, the 11 string arch guitar is ideally
suited to the performance of a diverse cross-section of
early music.
